November 19, 2016 – Christmas is the most joyful season of the year for Filipinos. We celebrate the festive holiday, blessings are shared through cheerful gift-giving, and of course, we enjoy the staple Christmas dishes we have with our families. Sub-Zero and Wolf unwrapped simple yet unconventional ways on how we can take our cooking to the next level with good wines during its cooking demonstration last November 19, 2016. Focus Global’s corporate chefs, Chef Joyce Santos and Chef Gio Besa, gave away some tips and techniques as they led the day’s demonstration.

Cranberry and White Wine Glazed Turkey, the first festive dish, was prepared by Chef Gio. The guests were surprised when they witnessed with their own eyes how the turkey was cooked in less than an hour. What would normally take 3 hours took just 57 minutes with the Wolf Convection Steam Oven. This revolutionary appliance makes sure convection and steam work in concert to achieve a tender and flavorful turkey in no time!

The Beef Tenderloin with Port Wine Sauce, another main entrée prepared by Chef Gio, impressed the guests. Cooking this dish usually requires pre-heating and long searing to perfect the texture and tenderness of the beef. The Gourmet mode of Wolf’s M Series Oven did not just eliminate several cooking steps but also the guesswork as the oven decided the temperature, time, and rack positioning of the beef tenderloin. The last main entrée was prepared by Chef Joyce – the Prawn and Scallop Pasta. Like all the dishes that came ahead, it was cooked with ease. Desired results were achieved precisely even with the delicateness of these ingredients through the Wolf Induction Cooktop and Sub-Zero Refrigeration’s Air Purification System which kept them fresh until they were ready to be cooked.

The holiday feast would not be complete without a festive dessert and drink! Chef Joyce prepared Panettone with Rum Toffee and Eggnog Latte to end the day’s feast with merry cheer.
